Love Nutrition & Wellness is founded and run by clinical nutritionist, Diana Newman. Over the last 10 years in clinical practice as a Melbourne based nutritionist, Diana has come to specialize in managing patients with digestive conditions, such as IBS, abdominal bloating, reflux, and altered bowel motions.
The combination of personal experience together with years of clinical insight allows Diana to help clients on a deeper level, in order to set the wheels in motion for healing, not simply a temporary fix.
Diana also feels strongly about educating clients on a vegan or vegetarian diet to avoid nutritional deficiencies that will impact upon life long health if not addressed.
Our motto at Love Nutrition is all about living life to the full, in happiness and health. While short term diets are effective in achieving particular outcomes, ultimately we want to improve our lifestyle and relationship with food. Love Nutrition is not about fad or extreme diets. It is about loving yourself enough to take care of your health through nourishing foods.
After graduating from nutrition studies Diana was lucky enough to work for a vascular surgeon, helping patients with cardiometabolic diseases, improve their diet and health. Through nutrition education and diet intervention, she watched as patients’ blood work returned to normal and the sparkle returned to their eyes. Addressing digestive health complaints such as IBS with nutrition intervention is another key area in which Diana has seen her patients blossom.
To gain a holistic assessment of her patient’s health, Diana takes a thorough case history, utilizing iridology and clinical examination, to create a health and wellness plan bespoke to each individual.

Like many natural health practitioners, I have gone through my own health issues and come out the other side. Although I really didn't know it at the time, my diet before I started studying nutrition was very low in many critical nutrients. Like many of my clients I see, I would of described my diet as 'healthy', as I did not really eat junk food (or so I thought). However, I was lacking in many nutrients, which was only exacerbated when I decided to go vegetarian. Without any knowledge of nutrition (I'd never even heard of an amino acid), I removed most animal foods from my diet, only to be replaced mainly by carbohydrates such as pasta, rice, bread and crackers.
Needless to say I wound up completely nutritionally deplete. I was extremely tired all the time, so much so that I thought I had chronic fatigue. My nails split constantly and I suffered from low mood and insomnia.
When I reintroduced meat back into my diet, I suddenly began to experience extreme digestive issues. Abdominal bloating, pain + more. I'd even have to leave my night classes early due to the severity of my symptoms. I just couldn't understand why my healthy dinner of brown rice, broccoli and chicken was causing me such extreme digestive symptoms and pain.
Luckily I was studying at a natural health college with a student clinic, so I was able to sort out my gut issues with a student practioner.
I look back on it now and know EXACTLY what happened. I have always had a tendency to digestive symptoms, maybe due to antibiotics through childhood, however it all fell apart during my late teens and early adult life when hormones, nutritional deficiencies and stress entered the picture. By removing animal foods from my diet without knowing how to replace them nutritionally with plant foods, I depleted my body of essential nutrients needed for normal digestive function (among many other functions).
While digestive issues were my main complaint, through improving my diet and lifestyle I also saw dramatic improvements in:
Mood (good-bye depression)
Sleep (insomnia gone, MOST of the time)
Regular cycles (and no more period pain)
Clear and glowing skin
